1. Overview

We only process personal data that is necessary to deliver, secure and improve our QR code services. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

2. QR code data

  • Static QR codes: generated on the spot; no data is stored.
  • Dynamic QR codes: we process the data you enter (such as a URL, text, wifi details or a vCard), your settings and scan statistics.
  • Scan statistics: these contain country/city (derived), time, device, browser and referrer where available. We use them to give you statistics about your codes, and for analysis and security. They remain available for as long as the QR code is active, or until you delete it. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-site tracking.

3. Account and payments

When you use an account we process your name, email address, password (hashed) and billing details. Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store payment details ourselves — your card or bank details never reach our servers. The other parties we work with are listed below under External providers.

4. Security and logs

We process technical data such as browser information and error logs for security, stability and analysis. Logs are kept for a maximum of 90 days and pseudonymised where possible.

5. Cookies

The only cookies we place ourselves are functional cookies: a session cookie so you stay logged in, and cookies that remember your language and currency. These are needed for the site to work.

We also use Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to measure how the site is used: which pages are visited and where visitors come from. Google places analytical cookies for this (their names start with _ga). We use these statistics only to improve QRcode.me.

We do not place advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not build profiles for advertising purposes. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; note that the functional cookies are required to stay logged in.

6. External providers

We rely on a number of external parties to deliver the service. They process data solely on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes. These are the categories:

Would you like to know which specific parties these are at this moment? Request the current list at info@qrcode.me — you will receive it within 1 month, as with any other access request.
