Version July 2026 · QRcode.me — Interus
These terms and conditions apply to all services provided through QRcode.me, a trade name of Interus, established in Arnhem, the Netherlands (referred to below as “QRcode.me”, “we”, “us” or “our service”).
By using QRcode.me, creating an account or taking out a licence or subscription, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms.
Contents
Article 1 – Definitions
In these terms and conditions:
- QRcode.me: the online service that lets users generate and manage static and dynamic QR codes and view scan statistics.
- Interus: the company that operates QRcode.me.
- Customer / user: any natural person or legal entity using QRcode.me.
- Entered data: any URL, text or other data entered by the customer to generate a QR code.
- Credit / subscription: the form of use chosen by the customer: credits (a one-time payment per QR code) or a monthly or annual subscription.
- In writing: communication by email or through digital confirmation in the web interface.
Article 2 – Applicability
- These terms apply to all services, accounts and agreements relating to QRcode.me.
- Any terms and conditions used by the customer are expressly rejected.
Article 3 – Formation of the agreement
- An agreement is formed as soon as the customer creates an account, makes a payment or actually uses the service.
- The customer warrants that the (billing) details provided are correct and complete.
Article 4 – Right of use and restrictions
- The customer receives a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service for the duration of the chosen form of use.
- The customer is expressly prohibited from using the service for:
- linking to pornographic, sexually explicit or offensive material, and to any content involving minors;
- phishing, or impersonating a bank, company, government body or person in order to obtain login details, payment details or other personal data;
- spam, unsolicited bulk messaging, fraudulent activity or misleading people;
- distributing malware, viruses, ransomware, remote access tools or other harmful software through QR codes;
- gambling, betting, casinos and lotteries, including advertising them;
- concealing where a QR code or link actually leads, or showing a different destination to us, to security scanners, or to visitors from certain countries or devices than to everyone else;
- trading in illegal goods, such as drugs, weapons, stolen data or counterfeit products;
- anything unlawful in the country where the customer is, or in the country their visitors are in.
- If misuse is suspected, QRcode.me may deactivate the QR codes concerned and block the account without prior warning.
- QRcode.me is entitled to remove or block content or QR codes that conflict with these terms or with the law, at its own discretion.
- In cases of misuse, QRcode.me retains the account details and access logs, and may share them with the affected organisation or with law enforcement. If you believe we acted in error, you can contact us using the details in these terms.
Article 5 – Data and retention
- Static QR codes: no data is stored in our systems, other than the generated QR code image.
- Dynamic QR codes: data and scan statistics are kept for as long as the QR code is active, or until the user deletes it.
- The customer is responsible for the content the QR codes point to, and for making their own backups of any data they need.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to export or secure any required data before termination.
- When dynamic QR codes are used, scan statistics are collected as described in the privacy policy.
- We rely on external parties to deliver the service, including for hosting, payments, email, statistics and error monitoring. The current overview of those parties is in the privacy policy.
Article 6 – Obligation to test
- QRcode.me aims for optimal performance but does not guarantee that QR codes are scannable in all circumstances (for example due to print quality or scanner settings).
- The customer is required to test the generated QR code thoroughly before using it for print or commercial purposes.
Article 7 – Subscriptions, credits and ‘forever’
- Static QR codes are free. For dynamic QR codes you can choose: buy credits (a one-time payment per code or as a bundle) or take out a subscription.
- Credits are a one-time payment: no subscription, no recurring charges. A code you paid for with a credit keeps working without further payment — that is what we mean by ‘forever’. Unused credits remain valid for 5 years from the date of purchase.
- The subscription runs monthly or annually and renews automatically unless you cancel before the end of the current period. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- What you buy is access to the functionality as it exists at that time. Future new features, substantial updates or separate modules may be excluded from it.
- When a subscription ends, existing QR codes remain in place and stay scannable; premium features fall back to the free variant. Codes you paid for with a credit keep their paid status.
- We may change prices. Changes are announced at least 30 days in advance; codes already paid for and periods already running are not affected retroactively.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. In the event of non-payment, QRcode.me may suspend the service after informing the customer.
Article 8 – Right of withdrawal for consumers
- The service is performed immediately after purchase (for example, creating a dynamic code).
- The customer expressly agrees that delivery of digital services begins immediately after purchase and waives the right of withdrawal, to the extent permitted by law.
Article 9 – Availability and maintenance
- We aim for high availability but give no guarantee of uninterrupted operation.
- Interruptions for maintenance or outages do not give rise to any right to compensation or a refund.
- QRcode.me is not obliged to perform any obligation if this is impossible due to force majeure, including outages, internet problems, cyber attacks, government measures or other external causes. In the event of force majeure, obligations are suspended without any right to compensation.
Article 10 – Liability and hacks
- The total liability of QRcode.me is limited to the amount the customer has paid for the service concerned in the past 12 months.
- QRcode.me is in no event liable for damage caused by:
- unauthorised access by third parties to accounts or systems (hacks), including where this changes the links or data behind QR codes;
- printed material carrying a QR code failing to work;
- the content of third-party websites a QR code points to.
- The customer indemnifies QRcode.me against all third-party claims arising from the use of the generated QR codes.
- QRcode.me is not liable for indirect damage, including consequential loss, loss of profit, missed savings or reputational damage.
- The customer is responsible for keeping login details confidential and for all activity that takes place under the account.
Article 11 – Termination and deletion of data
- The end of a subscription is not the same as terminating your account. When your subscription ends, your QR codes remain in place and stay scannable; only the premium features fall back to the free variant (see article 7). Codes paid for with a credit keep their paid status.
- If you terminate your account — either yourself or at our request because of misuse — the right of use ends immediately. All linked dynamic QR codes are deactivated and all stored data, settings and scan statistics are erased. Recovery is not possible afterwards, not even for paid codes or credits you have not yet used.
- So before terminating, export the data you want to keep and replace any printed QR codes that point to a deactivated code.
Article 12 – Changes and governing law
- QRcode.me may change these terms unilaterally. Changes are announced at least 30 days in advance.
- These terms are governed exclusively by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in accordance with the applicable statutory rules.
