Static or dynamic QR code?

Not every QR code works the same way. A static QR code holds its information directly in the pattern. A dynamic QR code holds a short link that we redirect to your destination, so you can change that destination later and see how often the code is scanned.

Static QR code

All information is in the pattern itself. It keeps working, but you cannot change it afterwards and scans cannot be measured. How many static QR codes you can make for free is shown in the comparison on the pricing page.

Dynamic QR code

The code points to a link with us that you can change without reprinting the code. You see the number of scans and can use extra features, such as your own domain.

A dynamic QR code: free or paid

Both variants are shown side by side so you can see the difference.

Free
$0 forever
  • ✓ Up to 50 dynamic QR codes
  • ✓ Track scans and change the destination later
  • ✓ A free dynamic QR code works without an intermediate page for the first 3 scans; after that, people first see our branding page for 5 seconds on every scan.
Paid
$ 7.99 per QR code, one-time
  • ✓ No branding page: the scan goes straight through
  • ✓ Pay per QR code or subscribe ($14 per month)
  • ✓ If you still have credits, every dynamic QR code you create is a paid QR code
