What is a dynamic QR code?
A dynamic QR code stays editable after you print it and records every scan — the smart choice for anything that needs to last or be measured.
In short
- You can change the destination at any time, even after printing
- Every scan is counted, with statistics on time, location and device
- A short, fixed scan URL keeps the QR pattern simple and reliable
- Requires a free account; editing and tracking are premium features
How does it work?
A dynamic QR code does not store your final link directly. Instead it stores a short, fixed scan URL that points to QRcode.me. When someone scans it, we instantly redirect them to the destination you set. Because the QR pattern itself never changes, you can update where it leads as often as you like — the printed code keeps working.

Why use a dynamic QR code?
- Fix a typo or broken link without reprinting
- Reuse the same code across campaigns and seasons
- Measure exactly how often, when and where it is scanned
- Point one code to different content over time

Dynamic vs static
A static QR code stores the link directly in the pattern. It is free and never expires, but it cannot be changed or tracked once created. A dynamic QR code is the better choice whenever you need flexibility or insight. Read about free static QR codes.
